PREGNANT? SAY CHEERS TO THESE DELICIOUS FAUX ALCOHOLIC DRINKS

Whether you’re a mom-to-be, a supportive partner who wants to partake in a booze-free happy hour with your better half, or trying to be a better host for pregnant women, here are some great ways to say “à votre santé!” without alcohol.

“Zero-proof (0.0 ABV) beverage options are great for expectant moms who want a celebratory drink and no booze. The nonalcoholic beverage category has grown so much over the past few years — and it’s super inclusive. Of course, if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor about anything you’re consuming,” said Hilary Sheinbaum, author of “The Dry Challenge.”

Note that in general, non-alcoholic (NA) drinks are considered those with an ABV under 0.5%, so read labels carefully.

And if you’re looking for a night on the town, Sheinbaum recommends Unlisted in the LES and Lamalo in NoMad for mocktails.

Ahead are some of the latest and greatest nonalcoholic offerings.

DRY Botanical Bubbly Reserve

From DRY Soda Co., this is available in lavender and spiced pear, and the bubbly drink can pinch hit for champagne with ease thanks to their robust flavors.

The former has a floral base with hints of rosemary and oak, while the latter screams juicy pear with undertones of vanilla and cardamom. From $46 per four-pack; DrinkDry.com

French Bloom

French Bloom’s Le Rosé and Le Blanc shine in the 0.0% alcohol sparkling wine arena. Both cuvées are organic, vegan and have no sulphites.

Now, time to decide between the Le Blanc (tropical notes, apple, spicy citrus) and Le Rosé (white and red grape juice with lemon, rose petals, and berry aromas). From $39 per bottle; FrenchBloom.com

Ritual Zero Proof

Craving a G&T? A whiskey for your cocktail? Scratch that itch with this line of NA spirit alternatives, which debuted in 2023.

Our personal favorite is the whiskey sub-in with notes of vanilla and oak and waves of fruit and caramel (along with a bit of whiskey’s signature sting).

The NA rum is also a choice selection with toasted spices, ripe banana, burnt orange, cloves, and star anise. From $30 per bottle; RitualZeroProof.com

RationAle Brewing

Fun fact: Mexican lager is said to be the fastest-growing segment in beer, and just because you have a baby on board doesn’t mean you have to miss out on the craze.

Clausthaler

Clausthaler knocks the NA beer game out of the park with its Original and Grapefruit standbys.

They’ve recently debuted an IPA Dry Hopped featuring Cascade Hops that are completely free of alcohol.

Best Day Brewing

Baby shower? Football night? Barbecue?

The Variety 12-pack ($28) is great for group gatherings, as it contains four of each of the core NA beers — Kölsch, West Coast IPA, and Hazy IPA.

Personally, we can’t put down the Kölsch, with its toasty malt flavor and lighter hopping. From $14 per six-pack; BestDayBrewing.com

Heineken Nonalcoholic 0.0

Nothing goes down quite like a Heineken.

Enjoy a prenatal NA tipple with Heineken 0.0, a delightful lager with a hint of fruit and some superb maltiness.

Honestly, you may not want to go back to the real deal — it’s that good. From $13 per six-pack; Drizly.com

Athletic Brewing Co.

Though our go-to choices with this top-notch NA beer label are the Upside Dawn Golden and Free Wave IPA, this time of year, we gravitate toward the Dark & Gourdy, which riffs on a traditional porter-style beer with pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice notes.

The Oktoberfest, with its foam cap, malt base, and hops aplenty, is also a seasonal winner.
